Dr. Doug Peters
Executive Director Houston, TexasWith over three decades of congregational ministry experience, Doug serves Heritage21’s mission of partnering with churches as they Renew, Repurpose, and Replant within God’s kingdom.
Having deep roots in the Churches of Christ as a preacher’s kid, Doug left the world of electrical engineering in the nuclear power industry and pursued a calling into ministry with degrees from Abilene Christian University (BA, MS, DMin).
Before joining Heritage21 as Executive Director, Doug preached in DFW and Houston and served on the College of Biblical Studies faculty of Oklahoma Christian University. He is a partner with Hope Network Ministries and former leader of the Interim Ministry Partners division. Doug’s congregational consulting has focused on church health, mission renewal, leadership development and discernment/decision-making.
Doug and Sheryl are active church members where they reside in the north Houston, TX region. They are richly blessed with two daughters and a son-in-law.
Blair Bryan
Board Chair Charlotte, North CarolinaAs a founding member of Heritage21, Blair brings extensive commercial real estate expertise and deep church leadership experience to the organization.
A fourth-generation member of the Churches of Christ, Blair has served faithfully as an elder, deacon, building committee leader, and Sunday school teacher. He has been actively involved with congregations across multiple states including North Carolina, California, Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama.
His professional career spans 26 years in commercial real estate with the Staubach Company and Jones Lang LaSalle, plus two years as a staff accountant with Arthur Young & Co. Blair has worked on real estate assignments in 28 different states and has started and managed several companies. He also directed a Christian mentoring program for Harding University for seven years.
Blair and his wife Karen have four grown children and live in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Dan Bouchelle
Board Member Bedford, TexasDrawing on broad international missions experience and church leadership expertise, Dan serves on Heritage21’s board as part of the organization’s network initiative to partner with other ministries within the Churches of Christ fellowship.
He served in congregational ministry for over two decades with three different churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He has worked with churches on six continents and congregations throughout the United States.
Dan currently serves as president of Mission Resource Network, an international missions ministry he has led since 2010. He has also served on the boards of Great Cities Missions and Christian Relief Fund. Dan is an accomplished author, having written four books: The Gospel Unleashed, The Gospel Unhindered, When God Seems Absent, and We’re on a Mission from God.
Dan and his wife Amy live in the DFW area and are blessed with three grown children and two grandchildren.
Brant Bryan
Board Treasurer Richardson, TexasBrant provides significant commercial real estate and financial expertise to Heritage21, having facilitated more than $10 billion in corporate real estate transactions for major corporations including ConocoPhillips, Cisco Systems, and Texas Instruments.
Brant has a deep history with the Churches of Christ, having served as a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and small group leader. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harding University before completing his MBA at Harvard Business School. He currently serves on Harding’s Board of Trustees and chairs Heartbeat.
A founding leader of Fairways Equities and Cresa Global, Brant specializes in creative real estate financing solutions and has been recognized as a “technical expert who thinks outside the box.” His expertise has been featured in The New York Times, CFO, and The Wall Street Journal.
Brant and his wife Melita live in Dallas and are blessed with four children and 15 grandchildren.
Bill Dismuke
Board Member Arlington, TexasBill adds comprehensive legal and financial expertise to Heritage21, specializing in preserving family wealth through comprehensive planning that encompasses closely held businesses, significant assets, and multi-generational estate strategies.
Bill has been a member of North Davis Church of Christ (formerly Randol Mill Church of Christ) since 1970, where he has served as a teacher, deacon, and elder. His deep commitment to the Churches of Christ is evident through his enduring service and leadership.
Bill graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in business administration and accounting, obtained his CPA, and later attended Baylor Law School. He is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Tax Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law. Bill has also served on numerous nonprofit boards including Women’s Haven, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the North Texas Community Foundation.
Bill and his wife Paula have been married for 49 years and are blessed with two daughters and two granddaughters.
Stephen Eck
Senior Legal Counsel Edmond, OKStephen contributes more than three decades of ministry experience and Christian higher education leadership to Heritage21, having served in university administration since 1992.
As a fourth-generation member of the Churches of Christ, Stephen has a profound understanding and love for the fellowship. He and his wife Megan have been active members of congregations in Nebraska, Kansas, Washington, and Oklahoma. Stephen’s ability to build trust-based relationships has been invaluable in fostering collaboration across diverse settings.
Stephen has served for 14 years as Oklahoma Christian University’s General Counsel, focusing on compliance, governance, policy, employment, transactional, and estate planning law. His work includes guiding difficult employment matters and partnering with donors on significant estate stewardship.
Stephen and Megan are active members of a downtown Oklahoma City church plant of Memorial Road Church of Christ.
Dr. Stan Granberg
Board Member Seattle, WashingtonStan contributes decades of church planting expertise and scholarly insight to Heritage21 as an originating board member, having worked with hundreds of churches throughout his career.
Stan has dedicated his life to serving Churches of Christ as a scholar and practitioner who studies the growth patterns and dynamics of the fellowship. His ministry includes serving as a church planting missionary in Kenya, university professor at Lubbock Christian University, Cascade College, and Harding School of Theology, and founding director of Kairos Church Planting.
Stan holds degrees from Harding University, Fuller Theological Seminary, and the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. He has authored several books including Empty Church: Why People Don’t Come and What to Do About It and contributed to The Stone-Campbell Movement: A Global History.
Stan is married to Gena and they have four children and 15 grandchildren.
Scott Lambert
Board Member Ft. Worth, TexasA founding member, Scott adds four decades of ministry experience to Heritage21’s Board of Trustees. His expertise lies in international leadership development, church planting, and campus ministry.
Scott has served the Churches of Christ throughout his career as campus minister at Pepperdine University, associate minister at Hilltop Community Church of Christ, Network Director for Kairos Church Planting, and Executive Director of Let’s Start Talking. He has been honored to serve as an elder, adult Bible teacher, small group minister, missions committee chairman, and speaker.
Scott currently serves as Executive Director of The Conversation Group, an international leadership ministry. His commitment to developing leaders and strengthening congregations has been the hallmark of his work across multiple contexts and organizations.
Scott and his wife Kim have been married for 37 years and are blessed with three grown children and seven grandchildren.
Robin Maynard
Board Vice Chair Searcy, ArkansasRobin brings significant legal expertise in higher education and religious freedom to Heritage21, with experience in governance and compliance for faith-based institutions.
Robin has spent her life worshiping and serving within Churches of Christ as a Bible class teacher, ministry leader, and elder’s wife. She has volunteered extensively at her church and charitable organizations.
While Robin began her career as a prosecuting attorney in Minnesota, she currently serves as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for Harding University, overseeing legal affairs, policy strategy, and compliance. She is also an attorney with Lathrop GPM Law Firm, focusing on Title IX issues and religious freedom for Christian universities and faith-based institutions. She brings Board experience at Harding University and two K-12 faith-based private schools.
Robin holds a B.A. from Harding University and J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law. She and her husband Paul live in Searcy, AR with their three children.
Stacey Naizer
Fractional CFO Edmond, OklahomaStacey offers fifteen years of accounting expertise to Heritage21, with experience serving Fortune 100 companies, venture-backed startups, and small businesses. She currently owns an accounting firm specializing in small business bookkeeping, CFO advisory, and tax strategy. She serves as H21’s part-time Fractional CFO.
An active member of Churches of Christ for over 30 years, Stacey enjoys serving through children’s ministry and her small group, bringing both her professional skills and servant’s heart to kingdom work.
Stacey holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA with an emphasis in Organizational Development from Oklahoma Christian University. She is a licensed CPA.
Stacey and her husband Seth have been married for 14 years and are blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Fernando Nasmyth
Board Member Atlanta, GeorgiaFernando brings to Heritage21’s Board of Directors over 30 years of serving his home congregation as a Shepherd. His professional career includes 40 years of experience as a lawyer, with leadership roles in commercial real estate investment and finance.
Fernando is a graduate of Cornell University, where he earned a B.A. in Government and a J.D. from Cornell Law School. Additionally, he has a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation from Abilene Christian University.
Fernando also serves as a Trustee for several Christian organizations who share a focus on the next generation. These include Georgia Agape, Greater Atlanta Christian School, and Abilene Christian University.
Fernando and his wife, Donna, are blessed to have celebrated 50 years of marriage in June 2025. They have 3 adult children and 4 wonderful grandchildren.
Burt Nowers
Board Member Nashville, TennesseeBurt contributes decades of financial leadership and international missions experience to Heritage21, combining his accounting expertise with a passion for global ministry and Christian higher education.
A longtime member of Brentwood Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, Burt has served as a Shepherd since 2010. His commitment to the Lord began in his youth in the northeast and has continued throughout his 46 years in Nashville.
Burt graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in Accounting and is a licensed CPA. His career began at Deloitte Haskins & Sells before co-founding AIM Healthcare Services in 1995, where he served as CFO.
He serves on the board of Healing Hands International and chairs the Central European Christian Education Foundation. Burt also serves on Lipscomb University’s audit committee as well as on the Dean’s Board and as CEO in Residence for the College of Business.
Burt and his wife Lisa have been married for 46 years and are blessed with three adult children and six grandchildren.
Mike O’Neal
Board Secretary Edmond, OklahomaMike contributes four decades of higher education leadership and legal expertise to Heritage21, combining his extensive experience in university administration with his deep commitment to Christian education and ministry.
Mike has served as an elder, deacon, Bible teacher, and song-leader in Churches of Christ. He holds a BA in Accounting from Harding University and JD from Stanford University. Mike’s previous roles include teaching at Harding University, serving as General Counsel and Vice President at Pepperdine University, President at Oklahoma Christian University, and Chancellor of the University of Rwanda. He has also practiced law, worked as a CPA, and served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.
Mike is President Emeritus of Oklahoma Christian University and a member of The Christian Chronicle Board of Trustees. Mike and Nancy live in Edmond, Oklahoma, and are blessed with two children and six grandsons.
Paula Holsberry
Director of Communications Wichita Falls, TexasPaula serves Heritage21 with over two decades of experience as an educator in Texas schools, followed by providing consultation and training services to businesses and nonprofits. She holds a degree from Abilene Christian University and combines her educational background with practical business and organizational experience to serve the Heritage21 mission.
Paula serves actively at Tenth and Broad Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Texas, where her husband preaches. Her involvement includes teaching Bible classes, leading discipleship groups, and serving on the mission committee.
Paula and Ken have been married since 1991 and are blessed with two sons, along with daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. In her free time, Paula enjoys reading and learning, playing with her grandkids, and watching sunrises.
Deanna Amores
Administrative Assistant Magnolia, TexasDeanna combines missions expertise and a heart for discipleship to Heritage21, blending her training in psychology and missions with practical church planting experience.
Deanna has roots in the Churches of Christ, having served as a church planter in Concepción, Chile for five years with a team trained by ACU’s Halbert Institute for Missions. She is actively involved at her congregation, where she teaches children’s Bible classes and serves on the missions committee.
Deanna holds a B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Missions from Abilene Christian University. Her missionary work in Chile focused on building relationships through shared meals, leading discipleship studies, and walking alongside people in their faith journey.
Deanna and her husband Kevin are raising two daughters. Their family participates in a young families life group at their church and serves together at Impact Church of Christ in inner-city Houston.
